Not Just A Bride, But Family

A month before our wedding, my future mother-in-law told me she wanted “family-only photos”—without me.
I smiled and said, “That’s fine. But after this wedding, I am family.”
I didn’t tell my fiancé, Micah, right away. Then, at my bridal shower, I overheard her whisper, “I give it two years.”
That night, Micah called her:
“If you can’t respect her, don’t come to the wedding.”
The next day, she showed up with his childhood photo album. No apology—just a crack in the wall.
At the wedding, when they called for “family only,” I stepped back, but Micah pulled me close and said,
“You’re the center of my family now.”
Weeks later, she sent a real apology.
A year later, she’s the one showing off our photos and knitting our baby’s blanket.
People can change.
And sometimes, love is how you rewrite the story.
