A Wedding Day That Mended the Pain of the Past

For 12 years, I blamed my ex-husband’s wife for the end of my marriage. When our daughter’s wedding arrived, I refused to let her attend—but my ex-husband stood by his decision to bring her.

On the wedding day, my daughter broke down under the pressure and begged for peace. Then my ex-husband’s wife surprised me by repairing my daughter’s damaged bouquet and saying, “She deserves to have a beautiful day.”

In that moment, I realized my anger had only been hurting me and my daughter. The wedding became the day I finally chose forgiveness over resentment and found peace.
