I Refuse to Give Up My Rights Just Because I Wasn’t a “Devoted Daughter”

My sister, 38 and single, cared for our sick mother for 12 years while I was busy raising my four kids. After Mom passed, I wanted her to move out so we could sell the house and split the proceeds 50/50. But she told me, “You don’t deserve a penny! You were never a devoted daughter.”

I tried to ignore it, but when I arrived at the house, the locks had been changed. I saw a shadow through the window and froze when I realized the house was almost empty. I forced my way in and was shocked to find her packing the last box.

“What are you doing?” I asked.

She smiled and said, “Oh, didn’t I tell you? I already sold the house.”

I was furious and told her she should have consulted me since we both owned it. Then she handed me a document — a paper signed by Mom, leaving her 100% of the property.

That’s when I understood: she’d convinced Mom to give her the house outright. Smirking, she said she’d been waiting to see how I’d react after Mom died. When she saw I was eager to kick her out and sell the place, she decided I didn’t deserve anything.

The house is legally hers, and I don’t know how to fight this. I feel lost. What should I do?
