I Spent Hours Preparing for a Baby Shower—Only to Be Uninvited the Night Before

When my close friend invited me to her baby shower, I happily volunteered to prepare food for 50 guests. I spent an entire day cooking, excited to celebrate with her.

The night before the event, she texted saying I was no longer invited because the venue was too small—but she still expected me to drop off the food.

Hurt and disappointed, I politely replied that I wouldn’t be able to deliver the food after all. I chose to protect my dignity instead of arguing.

Later, I heard the party ran short on food, but the real lesson wasn’t about the event—it was about respect. Kindness should never come at the expense of self-worth, and true friends value you, not just what you can do for them.
