My Husband Kept Making Every Jar Impossible for Me to Open – When I Learned Why, I Filed for Divorce

I Left My Husband Because He Tightened Every Jar—Then My Neighbor Revealed Why
When I told my sister I was leaving Eric because of jars, she thought I had lost my mind.
For years, my husband tightened every lid so firmly that I couldn’t open it. Whenever I asked for help, he would grin and say, “What would you do without me?”
At first, it seemed harmless. But soon, every jar became impossible to open—even foods Eric never ate.
I repeatedly asked him to stop. He promised he would, but within weeks, the lids were sealed tightly again. When I complained, he laughed, blamed my weak hands, or said I was imagining problems.
Eventually, I bought rubber grips, transferred food into plastic containers, and even placed tape on jars to see if he touched them.
Eric called me paranoid.
Then he left for an eight-day work conference. One evening, I spent 15 minutes struggling with a jar of roasted peppers before asking my neighbor Mark for help.
He tried opening it—and even he struggled.
“Why is this sealed like evidence?” he joked.
After hearing my story, Mark entered my kitchen and tested the other jars. Some contained artichokes, food coloring, and even a face mask Eric never used.
Mark couldn’t open several of them.
His expression suddenly changed.
“Oh no,” he said. “Leave this man. I know exactly why he’s doing it.”
Then he pulled out a chair and revealed something that made me feel sick.
