Gunman who believed he was Jesus Christ opened fire on White House checkpoint, neutralized by Secret Service

A quiet evening near the White House turned chaotic when 21-year-old Nasire Best allegedly opened fire at a security checkpoint on 17th Street. Secret Service agents responded within seconds, shooting the suspect as reporters and bystanders scrambled for safety. One civilian was also injured during the exchange of gunfire.
The White House was briefly locked down while President Trump remained inside the Oval Office. Witnesses said Best had been pacing nearby and claiming to be “Jesus Christ” before the shooting began. FBI investigators are examining whether mental illness, rather than political motives, played a role in the attack as officials condemned the violence.
