My Son Fell Into a Coma After a Walk With His Dad — In His Hand Was a Note: “Open My Closet for the Answers, but Don’t Tell Dad.”

My 13-year-old son fell into a coma… and the note in his hand changed everything.
The call came on an ordinary afternoon: “Your son has been taken to the hospital.”
Andrew, who has asthma, had collapsed during a walk with his father. When I reached the hospital, he was unconscious, surrounded by machines.
While holding his hand, I noticed a folded note he was gripping tightly.
It read: “Mom, open my closet for the answers. Don’t tell Dad.”
At home, I found medical papers for a heart specialist appointment — one I never canceled. His father had.
Hidden in the closet was Andrew’s phone with a video message. Through tears, he explained he’d been having chest pain and dizziness for weeks but was told not to worry me.
I brought everything to the doctors immediately. They changed his treatment plan and began monitoring his heart closely.
Sitting beside his bed that night, I made one promise:
I will always listen when my child says something is wrong.
