The Job That Got Andy Locked Up

Several years ago, Andy was sent to prison. Throughout his sentence, he earned a reputation as a respectful, trustworthy inmate, getting along well with both the guards and his fellow prisoners.
The warden believed Andy was genuinely good at heart. Wanting to help him rebuild his life, he arranged for Andy to learn a skilled trade while incarcerated. Within three years, Andy had become one of the most talented carpenters in the area.
Because of his good behavior, Andy was frequently granted weekend passes to complete small carpentry jobs for local residents. Without fail, he always returned to prison by Sunday evening, proving himself to be a model prisoner.
One day, the warden decided to remodel his kitchen but lacked the expertise to install custom cabinets and a large countertop. Confident in Andy’s skills, he called him into his office and asked for help.
To the warden’s shock, Andy refused.
“But you’re an expert carpenter,” the warden said. “I really need your help.”
Andy sighed and replied,
“I’d honestly love to help, warden…
but countertop fitting is what landed me in prison in the first place.”
