My Stepmom Told Me to Wash Dishes After Her Birthday Party Because I Didn’t Gift Her a Dishwasher – Karma Hit back for Her Audacity

I’m Mia, 16, living with my dad and his nightmare of a wife, Trudy. She’s been around for two years and plays the “evil stepmom” role like she’s auditioning for a movie. My dad avoids conflict, and I keep my head down to survive.

For her over-the-top 45th birthday party—basically a mini wedding—Trudy told me I should buy her a dishwasher. I said I was saving for prom. She rolled her eyes, of course.

Come party day, I was basically her unpaid help—setting up, serving drinks, cleaning. After the cake, she humiliated me in front of everyone for not buying the dishwasher, then ordered me to wash all the dishes.

So I did.

Next morning? The kitchen was flooded. Turns out Trudy dumped greasy meat juices down the drain and tried to “fix” it with chemicals. The repair bill? Huge.

And then—plot twist—my dad said we’d need to cut back but not on my prom dress. He handed me $500 and stood up to her for the first time.

Now Trudy’s suddenly sweet and offering to help me shop for a dress.

Do I trust her sudden kindness? Yeah… not for a second.
