Don’t get fooled by the supermarkets. They’re selling you chicken meat from…

🍗 What “Farm-Fresh” Chicken Labels Don’t Always Tell You

That chicken breast in your grocery cart may look natural—but much of supermarket chicken comes from highly industrial farming systems designed for speed and profit.

Most chickens are raised in large enclosed facilities with thousands of birds in crowded conditions, not open fields. They’re bred to grow extremely fast—reaching market size in just 5–6 weeks.

This rapid growth can cause health and mobility issues, while controlled lighting and special feed are used to maximize eating and production efficiency. The goal is uniform size for large-scale processing systems.

After processing, chicken is often chilled in water baths, which can add extra weight and affect texture.

While this system keeps chicken cheap and widely available, many say it impacts flavor and quality compared to traditionally raised poultry.
