I Trusted My Mother-in-Law to Babysit for Only Two Hours — Came Back to See My Baby Being Breastfed by My Husband’s Ex

I never imagined trusting my mother-in-law for one afternoon would destroy our peace. When we left baby Sly with her, I thought he was safe. What we came home to changed everything.

Sable had always been overbearing — criticizing me for using formula, claiming she “knew better.” But nothing prepared me for that day.

After a short doctor’s visit, we walked in to find Sable sipping tea while my husband’s ex, June, sat on our couch — breastfeeding our baby.

I froze. Sable calmly said, “Don’t be upset. June’s helping. She has real milk. You’re feeding him chemicals.”

Knox’s face turned white. June burst into tears, saying Sable told her we’d agreed. We hadn’t. She’d paid June $100 per feeding.

Knox threw them out. We changed the locks, cut contact, and filed a report. Weeks later, Sable showed up crying on our porch. We never opened the door.

Now, months later, Sly is healthy and happy. And when Knox asks how his mother could think that was okay, I tell him,

“She didn’t think — she decided.”
