Spoiled Son Demands Money for Doing His Chores

Wesley pushed his plate away. “Meatloaf again? Can’t we ever eat something else?”

When told to rinse his plate, he smirked. “I’m not your servant.”

His dad stayed calm. “So you want to be paid for chores?”

“Exactly,” Wesley said. “Trash—one dollar, lawn—ten.”

“Deal,” his dad said. “But you’ll also pay for your meals and clothes.”

The next night, dinner cost ten dollars. Wesley ordered pizza instead—fifteen bucks gone. Breakfast? Six dollars for eggs, two for toast.

“Welcome to adulthood,” his dad laughed.

Later, needing seventy dollars for a football jersey, Wesley realized it would take two weeks of chores to earn it—lesson learned.
