Death came to a man one day and said, “My friend, today is your time.”
The man panicked and replied, “But I’m not ready!”
Death answered, “Sorry, but your name is next on my list.”
Thinking quickly, the man said, “At least let me offer you a meal before we go.”
Death agreed, so the man prepared food laced with sleeping pills. After Death ate, he fell into a deep sleep. The man quietly took the list and moved his own name from the top all the way down to the bottom.
When Death finally woke, he smiled and said, “Because you’ve been so kind, I’ll start with the names from the bottom of the list.”
