An old man from Alabama moved to New York

The old man explained, “Well, first, I sold him a small fishhook. Then a larger one. Then a whole set. After that, I sold him a new rod, some tackle, and a cooler.

I asked where he planned to fish, and when he said ‘the coast,’ I sold him a boat. Then I told him his car wouldn’t pull it — so I sold him a truck. Finally, I suggested he take a vacation package to go with it all.”

The manager blinked in disbelief. “You mean to tell me a guy came in here to buy a fishhook, and you sold him all that?”

The old man grinned. “No, sir. He just came in to buy some aspirin for his wife’s headache. I told him he might as well go fishing.”
