MY BEST FRIEND INVITED ALL HIS FRIENDS AND THEIR PLUS-ONES TO HIS WEDDING… EXCEPT MY GIRLFRIEND — AND I THOUGHT HE WAS JOKING WHEN I FOUND OUT WHY

Natalie and I have been together for three years, and she’s always been part of our friend group. So when my best friend Dylan announced his wedding, it made no sense that every groomsman got a plus-one except me.
I pulled someone aside, and he finally admitted the truth:
Sophie banned Natalie because she believed Natalie had feelings for Dylan.
When I confronted Dylan, he admitted Sophie was insecure and he agreed to uninvite Natalie “to avoid drama.” That was it for me—I refused to go to the wedding.
That night, Sophie sent me a long message explaining she’d seen texts from Natalie on Dylan’s phone—late-night messages that looked suspicious. She assumed the worst.
But Natalie explained they were actually about me—she’d asked Dylan for advice because she struggles to talk about serious things directly.
Dylan never defended her. He let Sophie believe a lie.
A week later, Dylan showed up at my door, saying Sophie left and that he’d handled everything out of fear. He apologized, but trust doesn’t rebuild overnight.
Natalie and I grew stronger from the mess.
Dylan and I are slowly repairing things.
And I learned one thing:
Misunderstandings happen when people act on half the story.
