HALF A YEAR AGO, MY HUSBAND FOUND A BETTER JOB

Half a year ago, we moved to a new city for my husband’s job, and our 7-year-old daughter started a new school. Soon, she came home upset, and when I tried to talk to her, she ignored me. One day, I found her in tears.
She said, “I don’t want Miss Allen to be my mother.” I froze, as Miss Allen was her teacher.
Turns out, my daughter had witnessed Miss Allen hugging my husband and saying, “See you later, Mark.” I was shaken. That night, I casually asked my husband about Miss Allen, and his nonchalant response didn’t sit right with me. The next day, I observed them at school, and saw Mark standing too close to Miss Allen. A subtle touch lingered, and I knew something was off.
That evening, I asked Mark if he was having an affair. He denied it, claiming Miss Allen was just an old college friend. But doubts lingered. The next day, I spoke to Miss Allen, who admitted she had feelings for Mark, though she insisted there was nothing between them.
I confronted Mark again, telling him that trust isn’t just about fidelity—it’s about not letting small cracks grow into something dangerous. He promised to keep his distance.
I realized that sometimes, threats to a marriage don’t appear as full-blown affairs—they start with innocent moments. If something feels off, trust your instincts.
