A Driver Took an 82-Year-Old Woman to Sit Outside the Same Diner Every Week – But on the Fourth Trip, a Stranger Handed Her an Object That Made Her Sob

Every Monday, 82-year-old Eleanor asked me to drive her to an old diner, where she watched the door in silence. Then a stranger handed her a ring, and she burst into tears.

The ring belonged to Thomas, her first love. They had planned to run away together 62 years earlier, but Eleanor stayed behind when her father told her that her mother was ill. He promised to deliver a letter explaining why, but Thomas never received it.

Years later, Eleanor saw a death notice and believed Thomas had died. But my daughter spotted his name among the surviving relatives.

I drove Eleanor to his house. When Thomas opened the door, he smiled and said, “You finally made it.”

A week later, they returned to the diner together for a date 62 years late. ❤️
