A Strange Dog Sat at My Son’s Grave Every Day – One Day, I Decided to Follow It

Three years after losing my 19-year-old son, Caleb, in a car accident, I still visited his grave every Sunday. For months, a scruffy dog sat beside his headstone. Nobody knew where he came from, so one afternoon, I followed him.
Twenty minutes later, he stopped at a small, weathered house. When the door opened, I recognized Sadie, Caleb’s former girlfriend. Then a little boy appeared behind her—with my son’s eyes and familiar smile.
“Beau is Caleb’s son,” she revealed. She had discovered her pregnancy after the accident but, frightened and overwhelmed, had kept it secret. I was devastated by the years we’d lost, yet amazed to meet the grandson I never knew existed.
The dog, Jasper, had been rescued by Caleb years earlier. His visits to the cemetery had brought us together.
The following Sunday, Sadie, Beau, and Jasper joined me at Caleb’s grave. For the first time in three years, I left holding my grandson’s hand.
