A Delivery Guy Left a Message on Our Ring Camera That Made Me Fire Our Babysitter – Four Words Saved My Baby

Our babysitter, Megan, seemed perfect. She sent cheerful photos, knew our one-year-old son’s routine, and always explained his unusual sleepiness as exhaustion from playing.

Then our delivery driver held a handwritten message up to our Ring camera: “CHECK YOUR TRASH CAN.”

My husband, Ryan, and I rushed home. In the garbage, we found children’s cough syrup, sleep medication, and a pharmacy bag bearing Megan’s name. Upstairs, our baby barely reacted when I picked him up.

Despite Megan’s insistence that he was simply tired, we took him to the hospital. Doctors confirmed exposure to a sedating medication, and police began investigating.

Megan eventually admitted she had repeatedly given him medicine to make him sleep and ease her workload.

The driver, Andre, had noticed her nervously hiding a medicine bottle in the trash. Unable to speak through our broken Ring microphone, he wrote the warning instead.

Our son recovered fully. A month later, Andre returned and asked whether he was okay.

“He is,” Ryan told him. “Because of you.”
