Saved Under the Wrong Name — and a Lesson I’ll Never Forget

 

I went on a date with a woman from the office, thinking we had real chemistry. We laughed and connected, and it felt genuine.

But when she lost her phone, I helped recover it—only to see my contact saved as “Free Dinner.”

I stayed calm, returned the phone, said goodnight, and walked away.

It wasn’t anger, just disappointment. I realized: kindness only matters where there’s respect.

Now I know—only invest where respect is mutual and intentions are real.
