Panic erupted in Millharbor after a massive fire tore through the historic Mariner’s Block, sending thick smoke across the city and forcing residents to flee. The blaze began inside the century-old McAllister Textiles Building before spreading rapidly to nearby structures, fueled by dry timber and strong harbor winds.
More than 100 firefighters battled the fast-moving fire as buildings collapsed, businesses burned, and nearby apartments were evacuated. Authorities issued air-quality alerts, opened emergency shelters, and confirmed multiple injuries from smoke inhalation, though no fatalities have been reported so far.
Officials are still investigating the cause of the devastating Millharbor fire, which destroyed several historic buildings and displaced dozens of residents. Despite the destruction, the community has united to support evacuees and first responders as recovery efforts begin.
