SUPREME COURT DELIVERS LANDMARK WIN FOR RELIGIOUS FREEDOM

The U.S. Supreme Court has issued a 9–0 decision that significantly strengthens religious protections in the workplace.

The Court overturned a long-standing standard that allowed employers to deny religious accommodations if they caused only “minimal cost.” Now, companies must show a “substantial burden” before rejecting such requests.

This shift means employees may have stronger rights regarding:

  • Work schedules
  • Religious observance
  • Job duties and accommodations

Supporters call it a major victory for religious freedom in the workplace. Critics warn it could create staffing and operational challenges for employers.
