The Day A Pizza Girl Changed My Life

I picked up a pizza when the cashier misheard me say I was “bad” instead of “not bad.” She gently said, “We all have tough days.”
That tiny moment of kindness stuck with me more than I expected.
The next day, I started doing something different — I began asking strangers how they were doing and actually listening. From a café worker chasing film school dreams, to an old jazz drummer named George, to a single mom named Lisa working two jobs… I started seeing how many people were quietly struggling while still showing up for life.
One small misunderstanding turned into a life shift.
I began showing kindness more intentionally — small conversations, small help, small moments that reminded people they mattered. And slowly, everything changed… not just for them, but for me too.
People I met began opening up, healing, and growing. Some even said that one simple moment of being seen changed their direction in life.
