The church was filled with excitement as I prepared to marry Adam, the love of my life. But just as the ceremony began, the doors burst open. Barbara, my future mother-in-law, stormed in, waving a letter. “Stop the wedding!” she cried, her voice frantic.

Adam’s face went pale. “What is this, Mom?”
Barbara’s eyes were wild. “She’s not what you think. I’ve seen the proof.”
Confused and shaken, I tried to explain, but Adam was already stepping back, torn between his mother and me. “I need to see the letter,” he said.
