My Neighbor Forced Me to Tear Down My Fence Because It Was 9 Inches on Her Property – Then Karma Hit Her Hard

I lived peacefully on Maple Street and built a fence for privacy after agreeing on its placement with my old neighbors, Grant and Candice. A year later, they sold the house to Patrice, a flashy realtor with a sharp attitude. She had the fence surveyed, discovered it was nine inches on her property, and demanded I move it or pay her for the land.

Patrice threatened to sue, so I reluctantly removed the fence. But soon after, she begged me to put it back—her dog, Duke, a German Shepherd mix, needed a secure yard. I refused. She tried a cheap bamboo fence, but Duke tore through it, causing chaos, damaging her home, and even stealing her purse during a garage sale.

Her life became a disaster without a proper fence. Eventually, I decided I’d had enough and put my house up for sale. Patrice seemed relieved when I left. A month later, I moved to a calmer neighborhood, and my dog now enjoys a peaceful yard. Sometimes karma works in the funniest way—especially when you underestimate a neighbor’s stubbornness.
