An active shooter incident occurred Thursday morning at Corewell Health Beaumont Troy Hospital near Detroit, triggering a full lockdown and emergency response around 7:08 a.m.

Authorities say the suspect was an employee who allegedly shot a coworker in the hospital parking garage before being quickly arrested at the scene. The victim, a 25-year-old staff member, was taken to emergency care and is currently in stable condition.
