Margaret had spent days preparing Thanksgiving for fourteen guests. Everything was perfect — until her 5-year-old daughter Monica suddenly grabbed the turkey and threw it on the floor.
“I SAVED YOU ALL!” she shouted.
Everyone froze.
Monica explained she had been hiding under the sink during hide-and-seek and saw Grandma Victoria sprinkling a strange black powder into the food, whispering that she wanted to “ruin Margaret’s dinner.”
Victoria tried to claim it was “just pepper,” but with the whole family staring, she finally admitted she’d tried to sabotage the meal out of jealousy.
Roger, furious, told his mother, “You’re not welcome at our holiday dinners anymore.”
They ordered pizza instead.
That night, Margaret tucked Monica in and whispered, “You protected us.”
