“Hope She Was Worth It”

My wife and I were overjoyed after hearing our baby’s heartbeat… until we got to my car. Scrawled across the driver’s side were the words:
“Hope She Was Worth It.”
My stomach dropped. Emily stared at the message, then at me. “I didn’t write it,” she said. “Who did?”
That evening, while scrubbing the car, Sophie—my ex—appeared. “Just doing what your wife should’ve done,” she said smugly. “Teaching you a lesson.”
Over the next days, Emily wouldn’t answer my calls. Then a man appeared with an envelope full of fake messages, designed to make it look like I’d cheated. Sophie was framing me.
I set a trap with a fake account, got her to confess in messages, and showed Emily the proof. The police traced the vandalism to her; she was arrested.
Months later, we welcomed our son, Chance. Trust had nearly been destroyed, but we survived—and sometimes, the quiet truth is stronger than the loudest lies.
