3 Years after Son’s Death, Lady Opens Door on Halloween & Sees Kids in Costumes She Sewed for Him – Story of the Day

Three years after losing her son Dave in a Halloween accident, Rosemary still avoided the holiday. On her therapist’s advice, she finally decorated her home for Halloween. That evening, kids knocked on her door—but to her shock, they were wearing the Halloween costumes she had sewn for Dave.

Panicked, she checked his room. His costumes, clothes, toys—everything was gone. She confronted her husband Lucas, who tearfully admitted he had donated Dave’s belongings to the local shelter to help her heal and keep Dave’s memory alive through other children.

Through her tears, Rosemary realized one of the boys looked just like Dave. She and Lucas decided to adopt him. Six months later, Tom became their son.

A year later on Halloween, Tom proudly showed her his jack-o’-lantern. Rosemary hugged him, realizing Dave hadn’t left—he had sent love back to her in another form.
