
I was waiting for my friend at a café, about to sit by the window, when a woman bumped into me.
“MOVE IT! MY KIDS NEED THESE SEATS!” she barked, without apology.
“I’m waiting for someone,” I replied calmly.
She sneered, “I’m friends with the owner. I can have you kicked out in a second!”
I smiled and said, “That’s funny—my friend, the owner, actually recommended this spot.”
Right then, Ethan, the owner, came over, greeting me warmly before turning to her.
“Ma’am, please be respectful to other customers.” Her confidence crumbled as he guided her to another table.
Later, after my friend arrived and we’d ordered breakfast, the woman returned, visibly calmer.
She apologized, explaining she’d just been overwhelmed with her kids and running late.
I accepted her apology with a smile, realizing that sometimes, patience can turn conflict into connection—and remind us all to be a little more human.
