My father-in-law insisted I join the spa weekend he covered—until halfway there, my neighbor phoned, yelling, “It was all their scheme! Turn around immediately!”

For three years, I was never “good enough” for my in-laws. I wasn’t rich, didn’t come from their world, and they made sure I felt it.

So when my father-in-law offered me a luxury spa weekend, I thought they were finally accepting me. But halfway there, my elderly neighbor called—panicked—telling me to turn back. It was a trap.

I rushed home and found rose petals, candles… and a strange woman holding lingerie. She thought I was the housekeeper. My in-laws had invited Mark’s ex over, hoping to replace me now that he was successful.

Mark walked in and was horrified. He kicked them out on the spot.

That day, I stopped trying to earn their approval. And for the first time, I felt truly chosen—not by them, but by the only person who mattered: my husband.
