Rough Landing

After a rough landing, the pilot got on the PA system and said, “Sorry about that hard landing, everyone. It wasn’t my fault—blame the asphalt.”

On this flight, the pilot admitted he had “hit the runway a bit hard.” According to airline policy, he was required to stand at the exit and personally apologize to each passenger, saying, “Thank you for flying XYZ Airlines, and sorry for the rough landing.”

All the passengers had deboarded except for one elderly lady, who used a cane and wore a hearing aid.

She approached the pilot and asked, “May I ask you something?”

“Of course, ma’am,” he replied.

She smiled and said, “I didn’t catch the announcement—did we land, or were we shot down?”

Meanwhile, the plane had taken off after a two-hour delay.
