My Husband Yelled at Me Because the Sounds of Me Cleaning Distracted Him from Work – And Then I Saw What This ‘Work’ Really Was

For three years, I was married to Jake, who called himself “the busiest man on Earth” but locked himself away in his “office” for hours daily. I believed his promises about building our future and handled everything else—kids, house, part-time work—while he worked late, always stressed and distant.

One chaotic day, Jake snapped at the kids and me for making noise during his “critical meeting.” Then I heard a strange voice from his office. Peeking inside, I found him playing an online game and chatting with someone called “SuzyLovely88.” When I confronted him, he admitted it was his escape because I was “boring.”

I felt betrayed and furious. Jake stormed out, declaring he was done with me and going to Suzy. The next day, his mom called with shocking news—“Suzy” wasn’t a woman but a middle-aged man who had been catfishing Jake for months, even scamming him for money.

I laughed, stunned by the absurdity, and told Jake I wanted a divorce. I took the kids and started rebuilding my life—getting a full-time job and daycare for the kids. When my son asked if we’d be okay, I finally felt hopeful and free for the first time in years.
