An elderly couple was starting to have memory issues, so they visited their doctor.
The doctor advised, “Start writing things down so you don’t forget.”
That evening, the wife said, “Sweetheart, I’d love some ice cream. Can you get me some?”
He said, “Sure.”
She added, “Better write it down.”
He shook his head. “No need. Ice cream. Got it.”
She continued, “With strawberries. Write it down!”
“I won’t forget,” he insisted.
“And don’t forget the whipped cream!” she said. “Please write it down!”
Annoyed, he replied, “Ice cream, strawberries, whipped cream. I’ve got it!”
Twenty minutes later, he returned with a plate of scrambled eggs and bacon.
She looked at it and snapped, “I knew you should’ve written it down! Where’s my toast?!”
