“I Gave My Son Our Family Home—Now He’s Letting His Mother-in-Law Move In Instead of Me”
I gave my recently married son my 3-bedroom home because he insisted it was perfect for starting a family. I moved in with my widowed sister, thinking I was helping them build their future.
But yesterday, my son told me his mother-in-law would be moving in with them. When I objected, he and his wife admitted they had no plans for children yet—they just wanted the space for her mother, who’s now going to live there.
I was stunned. I told them I never gave up my home for this and reminded them it’s still legally mine. My son responded, saying his mother-in-law needs them more than I do and that he considers her family now.
I feel betrayed and deeply hurt. What should I do?
