MY WIFE GOT A RANDOM TEXT FROM AN UNKNOWN NUMBER WHILE WE WERE OUT TO DINNER

While we were out to dinner, Emily got a random text saying, “Thinking about you, M.” She claimed it was a wrong number, but later I overheard her whispering on the phone. When I asked, she said it was her mom, but her mom was in a different time zone.
I checked the number and found it saved as “Mark.” The messages, like “I miss the way things used to be” and “I wish we could talk more,” made my heart sink.
The next day, I decided to observe her. Emily acted normal, but each time her phone buzzed, my stomach tightened. A week later, I found her crying at the kitchen table, and she admitted the texts were from Mark, her estranged brother. She hadn’t told me out of fear of reopening old wounds.
I supported her through the process, and eventually, their relationship healed. Mark became part of our lives, and looking back, I’m grateful I trusted her to heal. It showed me that forgiveness can turn pain into something beautiful.
