Puffy-Cheeked Dog Left Tied To Fence Reveals A Beautiful Face After Rescue

In Spring 2019, volunteers from Stray Rescue of St. Louis (SRSL) responded to a call about a wounded dog tied to a fence. When they arrived, they found a pup with a severely swollen face, suffering in the sun with untreated wounds. The team, horrified by his condition, immediately rescued him.
Named Marco, the pup had been waiting for help for days. His body was infected, and he was in severe pain. Despite his trauma, Marco still trusted humans and showed them love. The team rushed him to their animal hospital, where he spent months receiving IVs, antibiotics, and treatment for sepsis.
Although his wounds suggested dog fighting, Marco’s loving nature remained. He made a full recovery, and after being fostered by Katie, she fell in love with him and adopted him.
Now, Marco is thriving in a home filled with love. He’s become a spoiled, happy dog with a huge personality, enjoying life with his new family and other SRSL dogs. His painful past is behind him, replaced with comfort and joy.
