We Went to See Spider-Man After Months Without a Date Night – Then One Family Turned Our Evening Into a Nightmare

My husband and I had waited months for a simple date night at the movies. We finally made it to an 8:30 showing of Spider-Man, but the boy behind us kept kicking my seat and sending popcorn into my hair. When I asked his parents to stop him, they rolled their eyes and acted as though I was the problem.
My husband usually avoids complaints, so I was surprised when he got up and left the theater. Minutes later, he returned with the manager. As the parents argued, their son spoke up: his father had told him to keep bothering me because I’d complained. The manager asked the family to leave.
We’d missed so much of the movie that we couldn’t follow the plot, so the manager moved us to a later showing. While we waited, my husband helped pick the remaining popcorn from my curls. When I asked why he’d gone for help, he said, “Because you shouldn’t have had to.” Our date night took hours longer than planned, but that was the moment I remembered most.
