My Boyfriend Mocked Me for Becoming a Cleaner at His Company but He Soon Regretted It — Story of the Day

My boyfriend mocked me for taking a janitor job at his company. A week later, I caught him kissing his boss.
I had just lost my job and my grandmother, the person who had always supported me. Instead of giving me time to grieve, Adam called me a “freeloader” and demanded that I find work. When I took a janitor position at his company, he said he’d be embarrassed if anyone knew we were together.
Adam had also been coming home late, and I suspected he was hiding something. I switched to an evening shift and found him kissing Sandra, the company’s interim director, in her office. When I confronted them, Adam broke up with me on the spot and mocked my cleaning job again.
I left in tears. Outside, my grandmother’s lawyer called: she had left me everything, including the company where Adam and Sandra worked.
The next morning, I returned in a business suit. Sandra’s attitude changed as soon as she saw the documents. Adam still thought it was a joke—until I told him I was the new owner. I dismissed them both, then offered Adam the janitor opening he had called humiliating.
He took it.
