On what would have been my 56th wedding anniversary, I received 56 yellow roses and a note claiming my husband, James, had been forced to disappear.
James left for Vietnam two days after our wedding and was later declared missing in action. His best friend, Adrian, told me he had probably died in an explosion. I never remarried.
