The Unexpected Lesson a Teen Learned from My Elderly Father

I took my 92-year-old dad shopping for new shoes, then we stopped at the food court beside a teen with brightly colored, spiked hair.
Noticing Dad staring, the teen jokingly asked, “Never done anything fun in your life?”
Dad smiled and replied, “It’s wonderful to express yourself through color, but the brightest thing you can share is your character.”
The teen’s attitude softened, and he quietly thanked him. That moment reminded me: appearances catch attention, but kindness leaves a lasting impression.
