My Husband Threw $50 at Me and Said, ‘Make a Lavish Christmas Dinner for My Family — Don’t Embarrass Me!’

When my husband, Greg, tossed a crumpled $50 bill on the counter and smugly told me to “make a lavish Christmas dinner” for his family, I had two choices: crumble or turn the tables. Guess which one I picked?

Greg always insists we host Christmas dinner for his family, but this year, he outdid himself. After casually tossing the bill, he told me to “be resourceful” and not embarrass him in front of his family. I decided to show him just how “resourceful” I could be.

I secretly planned an extravagant dinner, hiring a catering team and decorating our house into a holiday masterpiece. Christmas Day came, and when Greg saw the spread, he was impressed. But the real surprise came later.

After a delicious meal, I thanked Greg for his generous $50 contribution. Everyone was stunned as I revealed that the dinner actually cost $750. Greg’s face turned red as his family learned how he’d underestimated me. I capped it off by showing Greg a receipt for a spa retreat I’d booked for myself, using my personal savings.

As Greg cleaned up, sulking, I enjoyed the evening with his family. And the spa retreat? I was going alone.
