Health officials have issued an advisory after a confirmed measles case was linked to travel through Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport. The infected individual is recovering in home isolation, and authorities say the overall public risk remains low.
Measles is highly contagious and can linger in the air for up to two hours in enclosed spaces. Health agencies are now conducting contact tracing and notifying potentially exposed travelers.
Officials emphasize that the MMR vaccine offers strong protection, and encourage people to monitor for symptoms such as fever, cough, and rash if they may have been exposed.
