Trump Asks Supreme Court To Overturn E. Jean Carroll Verdict

Former President Donald Trump has asked the U.S. Supreme Court to overturn a civil ruling finding him liable for sexual abuse and defamation in a case brought by writer E. Jean Carroll.

A jury in 2023 awarded Carroll $5 million, and an appeals court later upheld the verdict. Trump’s legal team argues the case was unsupported by physical evidence and calls it politically motivated, while Carroll’s supporters say the ruling reflects accountability for survivors.

The Supreme Court has not yet decided whether it will hear the appeal.
