My Husband Missed the Birth of Our First Child — After Discharge, I Returned to an Empty House and a Creepy Note in the Crib

The day I gave birth to my daughter, Emily, was supposed to be the happiest of my life. But it became a nightmare when Michael, my husband, wasn’t there. He had promised to be by my side, but as the hours passed, I was left alone in the hospital, trying to reach him with no answer.
When I was discharged and returned home with Emily, I hoped Michael would have an explanation. But instead, I found a note in the crib. The words shattered me: “I love you and our baby, Elena. But I have to leave forever. Ask your mom why she did this.”
Confused and heartbroken, I confronted my mother, who admitted she knew Michael had been having an affair with his boss. She had forced him to leave, giving him the choice to confess or go. Michael chose to leave us. My mother believed she was protecting me, but I felt betrayed by both her and him.
In the days that followed, I struggled with the reality that my husband had abandoned us for another woman. I tried contacting him, and eventually, he admitted everything, saying he was starting a life with his mistress and wouldn’t be coming back.
While devastated, I found solace knowing my daughter would never know the man who had so easily walked away from us. Now, it was just the two of us, and I was determined to move forward.
