‘Top Gun’ actor James Handy murdered by girlfriend’s son as chilling 911 call revealed

Actor James Handy has died after being found outside his Tarzana home in Los Angeles with multiple stab wounds. Despite medical efforts, the 81-year-old later died in hospital.

Police say the suspect, 44-year-old Michael Gledhill—the son of Handy’s longtime girlfriend—was taken into custody at the scene after allegedly making disturbing statements during a 911 call. The investigation is ongoing.

Handy, known for roles in Jumanji, Top Gun: Maverick, and Logan, is being remembered as a respected Hollywood character actor.
