Rodeo community members are mourning the death of 18-year-old roper Ace Patton Ashford, who died on August 12 after a tragic accident involving his horse while helping care for a sick cow. Ashford was reportedly dragged across an open field and succumbed to his injuries. His death came just weeks before he was expected to achieve a lifelong goal, leaving family, friends, and fellow rodeo athletes heartbroken.
