Caesar the Bear: Rescue from Bear Bile Farming
Caesar was a brown bear who spent years suffering on a bear bile farm in China, confined in a metal vest and forced to endure constant bile extraction in painful conditions.
In 2004, she was rescued by Animals Asia and taken to a sanctuary, where she slowly recovered, regained strength, and experienced freedom for the first time—swimming, resting, and living without pain.
Years of abuse caused lasting damage, and she passed away in 2017, but her story helped expose the cruelty of bear bile farming, where thousands of bears are still trapped today.
Caesar remains a powerful symbol of animal rescue, compassion, and the fight to end wildlife cruelty.
