I went to the store to buy pork ribs and came home to cook them.

I was cooking pork ribs when I noticed something pale and stringy curling out of the meat. My heart dropped instantly — I was convinced it was a worm.

I shut off the stove and spent nearly an hour panicking, searching online, and imagining the worst. Then I finally learned the truth: it was only a tendon, completely normal connective tissue in pork.

The fear disappeared, but dinner was ruined. The experience reminded me how quickly the mind can turn uncertainty into terror before the facts catch up.
