The Shared Plate Of Kindness

A couple sat next to us in a café, and the pregnant woman kept staring at our kebabs. Suddenly, her husband nervously came over and asked if we could spare our plates—she had been craving that exact meal for days, and they had run out.
Instead of refusing, we shared our food.
What started as an awkward moment turned into a heartfelt conversation about their long struggle to have a baby and how this pregnancy was their miracle.
We stayed strangers… until months later.
I was in a job interview when I realized the interviewer was the same woman from that café—now a senior executive. She remembered our kindness and said it revealed more about me than any résumé could.
I got the job.
A year later, we met again and helped another couple in need—because kindness, once given, keeps coming back in unexpected ways.
